Qutaybah narrated to us; al-Layth narrated to us, from al-Julahah, Abu Kathir, from Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli, from ‘Umarah ibn Shabib al-Saba’i, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Whoever says “There is no god but Allah alone, without partner; to Him belongs sovereignty and praise; He gives life and causes death, and He has power over all things” ten times after Maghrib, Allah will send guardians to protect him from Satan until morning, record for him ten deeds that ensure reward, erase ten ruinous sins from him, and grant him the equivalent of freeing ten believing slaves.’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This is a hasan gharib hadith. We know it only from the report of al-Layth ibn Sa‘d, and we do not know that ‘Umarah ibn Shabib heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).’

وَلاَ نَعْرِفُ لِعُمَارَةَ بْنِ شَبِيبٍ سَمَاعًا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم .
The Arabic states that the report is known only through al-Layth ibn Sa‘d and that al-Tirmidhi does not know ‘Umarah to have heard from the Prophet; the witness omits these chain caveats.
Should these critical transmission details be retained with the English witness?
