حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلاَنَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّ اللَّهَ حِينَ خَلَقَ الْخَلْقَ كَتَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ إِنَّ رَحْمَتِي تَغْلِبُ غَضَبِي " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ .

Qutaybah narrated to us; al-Layth narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Ajlan, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: ‘When Allah created creation, He wrote with His hand concerning Himself: “My mercy prevails over My wrath.”’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This is a hasan sahih gharib hadith.’
