حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِشَامٍ الرِّفَاعِيُّ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْكُوفِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْيَمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ، مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " الدُّعَاءُ لاَ يُرَدُّ بَيْنَ الأَذَانِ وَالإِقَامَةِ " . قَالُوا فَمَاذَا نَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ " سَلُوا اللَّهَ الْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ . وَقَدْ زَادَ يَحْيَى بْنُ الْيَمَانِ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ هَذَا الْحَرْفَ قَالُوا فَمَاذَا نَقُولُ قَالَ " سَلُوا اللَّهَ الْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ " .

Anas ibn Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Supplication is not rejected between the call to prayer and the commencement of prayer.’ They asked: ‘What should we say, Messenger of Allah?’ He replied: ‘Ask Allah for well-being in this world and the Hereafter.’ Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan hadith. Yahya ibn al-Yaman added this wording to the hadith: They asked, ‘What should we say?’ He said, ‘Ask Allah for well-being in this world and the Hereafter.’

وَقَدْ زَادَ يَحْيَى بْنُ الْيَمَانِ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ هَذَا الْحَرْفَ قَالُوا فَمَاذَا نَقُولُ قَالَ " سَلُوا اللَّهَ الْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ " .
The English witness omits both Abu ‘Isa’s hasan grade and his attribution of the added wording to Yahya ibn al-Yaman.
