Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘For me to say “Glory be to Allah,” “Praise be to Allah,” “There is no god but Allah,” and “Allah is greater” is dearer to me than everything over which the sun rises.’ Abu ‘Isa said: This is a hasan sahih hadith.

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • The witness has an apparent typo in its gloss of lā ilāha illallāh (‘but Allah’); the Arabic means ‘There is no god but Allah.’
