حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ، أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، وَالْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، وَهُوَ قَهْرَمَانُ آلِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " مَنْ قَالَ فِي السُّوقِ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ حَىٌّ لاَ يَمُوتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ حَسَنَةٍ وَمَحَا عَنْهُ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ سَيِّئَةٍ وَبَنَى لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَعَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ هَذَا هُوَ شَيْخٌ بَصْرِيٌّ وَقَدْ تَكَلَّمَ فِيهِ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ الْحَدِيثِ وَقَدْ رَوَى عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَحَادِيثَ لاَ يُتَابَعُ عَلَيْهَا وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ . وَرَوَاهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ الطَّائِفِيُّ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ عَنْ عُمَرَ رضى الله عنه .

Ahmad ibn ‘Abdah al-Dabbi narrated this to us; Hammad ibn Zayd and al-Mu‘tamir ibn Sulayman narrated to us; they said: ‘Amr ibn Dinar narrated to us—he was the steward of the family of al-Zubayr—from Salim ibn ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Whoever says in the marketplace, “There is no god but Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is Living and does not die. In His hand is all good, and He has power over all things,” Allah will record for him one million good deeds, erase one million bad deeds from him, and build for him a house in Paradise.’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘‘Amr ibn Dinar was a Basran shaykh, and some hadith scholars have criticized him. He narrated from Salim ibn ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar reports for which he has no corroboration. This hadith has also been narrated by a route other than this one. Yahya ibn Sulaym al-Ta’ifi narrated it from ‘Imran ibn Muslim, from ‘Abdullah ibn Dinar, from Ibn ‘Umar, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), without mentioning ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) in its chain.’’
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
This version gives one million good deeds and one million erased bad deeds, then mentions a house in Paradise. It does not include the other version's phrase about raising one million درجات.
قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَعَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ هَذَا هُوَ شَيْخٌ بَصْرِيٌّ وَقَدْ تَكَلَّمَ فِيهِ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ الْحَدِيثِ
The English witness ends after the hadith and omits the Arabic compiler's discussion of ‘Amr ibn Dinar and an alternate chain.
