Isma‘il ibn Musa al-Fazari narrated to us; Sa‘id ibn Khuthaym narrated to us, from Hanzalah, from Salim: When Ibn ‘Umar intended to travel, he would tell a man, ‘Come close to me so I may bid you farewell as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to bid us farewell.’ Then he would say: ‘I entrust your religion, your trust, and the conclusion of your deeds to Allah.’ He said: ‘This is a hasan sahih gharib hadith through this route, from the report of Salim ibn ‘Abdullah.’
