Al-Ansari narrated to us; Ma‘n narrated to us; Malik narrated to us. Qutaybah informed us, from Malik, from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: When people saw the first fruit of the season, they would bring it to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When he took it, he would say: ‘O Allah, bless our fruits for us; bless our city for us; and bless our measures, the sa‘ and the mudd, for us. O Allah, Ibrahim is Your servant, Your close friend, and Your prophet, and I am Your servant and prophet. He supplicated to You for Makkah, and I supplicate to You for Madinah for the like of what he asked for Makkah, and an equal amount in addition.’ Then he would call the youngest child he saw and give him that fruit. He said: ‘This is a hasan sahih hadith.’
