حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا رُفِعَتِ الْمَائِدَةُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ غَيْرَ مُوَدَّعٍ وَلاَ مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ رَبُّنَا " . قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .

Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us; Yahya ibn Sa‘id narrated to us; Thawr ibn Yazid narrated to us; Khalid ibn Ma‘dan narrated to us, from Abu Umamah, who said: When the table was lifted from before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would say: ‘Praise belongs to Allah—abundant, good, blessed praise, never to be left off and never dispensable, our Lord.’
He said: This hadith is hasan sahih.

The Arabic describes the praise as abundant, good, and blessed, and says that our Lord is never to be left off or be dispensable. The English witness’s ‘without being left off’ obscures this devotional sense; the rendering here makes the praise’s continuing necessity explicit.

The closing phrase غَيْرَ مُوَدَّعٍ وَلاَ مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ رَبُّنَا describes praise directed to a Lord who is never left off or dispensable.
