Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us; Sahl ibn Yusuf narrated to us; Humayd narrated to us, from Thabit al-Bunani, from Anas ibn Malik, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) visited a man who had become so wasted by illness that he was like a fledgling. He said to him: ‘Were you not supplicating? Were you not asking your Lord for well-being?’ The man said: ‘I used to say: “O Allah, whatever You would punish me with in the Hereafter, hasten it for me in this world.”’ The Prophet said: ‘Glory be to Allah! You cannot bear it—or you are unable to endure it. Why did you not say: “O Allah, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire”?’ Abu ‘Isa said: ‘This is a hasan sahih gharib hadith through this route. It has also been narrated through other routes from Anas, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).’

No ambiguity in the Arabic note; the English witness omits it.
