Mahmud ibn Ghaylan narrated to us; al-Mu’ammal narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Humayd, from Anas, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Persist in calling upon “O Possessor of Majesty and Honor.”’ He said: ‘This hadith is gharib and not preserved. Rather, it is narrated from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Humayd, from al-Hasan, from the Prophet, and this is more accurate. Al-Mu’ammal made an error in it, saying: from Hammad, from Humayd, from Anas; this version is not corroborated.’

Al-Tirmidhi says this version is not preserved, identifies the more accurate mursal chain, and states that al-Mu’ammal erred and is uncorroborated; the English witness omits these source-critical findings.
Should these chain-critical findings be preserved alongside the English witness?
