Unreviewed translation. All hadiths in this collection are available in five languages. Titles and introductions may remain in Arabic.

Al-Hasan ibn ‘Arafah narrated to us; Isma‘il ibn ‘Ayyash narrated to us, from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Husayn, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from Abu Umamah al-Bahili, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘Whoever goes to bed in a state of purity and remembers Allah until sleep overcomes him, then, if he turns over at any hour of the night and asks Allah for some good of this world and the Hereafter, Allah will grant it to him.’ He said: ‘This is a hasan gharib hadith. It has also been narrated from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from Abu Zabya, from ‘Amr ibn ‘Abasah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).’

The Arabic adds al-Tirmidhi’s grade and an alternate route through Abu Zabya and ‘Amr ibn ‘Abasah; the English witness omits this.

Should this corroborating-route note be tracked as an omission?
