Al-Hasan ibn ‘Arafah narrated to us; Isma‘il ibn ‘Ayyash narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Rashid al-Hubrani, who said: I came to ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘As and said, ‘Tell us something you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).’ He handed me a sheet and said, ‘This is what the Messenger of Allah wrote for me.’ I looked in it and found that Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) had said, ‘Messenger of Allah, teach me what to say in the morning and evening.’ He replied, ‘Abu Bakr, say: “O Allah, Originator of the heavens and earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, there is no god but You, Lord and Master of everything. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own self, from the evil of Satan and his snares, and from committing evil against myself or bringing it upon a Muslim.”’ He said: ‘This is a hasan gharib hadith through this route.’

Arabic sharakihi means ‘his snares/traps’ here; the English witness renders it ‘his Shirk,’ changing the phrase’s sense.

Can ‘his Shirk’ be corrected to ‘his snares’ or flagged in the witness?
