Qutaybah ibn Sa‘id narrated to us; Ja‘far ibn Sulayman al-Duba‘i narrated to us, from Kahmas ibn al-Hasan, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Buraydah, from ‘A’ishah, who said: I asked, ‘Messenger of Allah, if I know which night is the Night of Decree, what should I say during it?’ He replied: ‘Say: “O Allah, You are Pardoning and Generous; You love to pardon, so pardon me.”’ He said: ‘This is a hasan sahih hadith.’
