Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us; Abu ‘Asim narrated to us; ‘Uthman al-Shahham narrated to us; Muslim ibn Abi Bakrah told me: My father heard me saying, ‘O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety, laziness, and the punishment of the grave.’ He said, ‘My son, from whom did you hear this?’ I said, ‘I heard you saying it.’ He replied, ‘Keep to these words, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say them.’ He said: ‘This is a hasan [sahih] [gharib] hadith.’
