Muḥammad ibn Bashshār narrated to us: Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us: Bahz ibn Ḥakīm narrated to us: my father narrated to me, from my grandfather, who said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Woe to the one who tells a story to make people laugh and lies; woe to him, woe to him.' A report on this subject is also related from Abū Hurayrah. He said: 'This hadith is ḥasan.'
