Abu Dharr reported that the Prophet said: “Renunciation of worldly life does not mean forbidding what is lawful or wasting wealth. Rather, it means that you trust what is in Allah’s hand more than what is in your own hand, and that when afflicted by a calamity you would be more eager for its reward than to have the calamity removed and remain with you.” Abu Isa graded this report gharib and said it is known only through this route. Abu Idris al-Khawlani’s name was Aidhullah ibn Abdullah; Amr ibn Waqid was criticized as a munkar narrator.
