Abu Umamah reported that the Messenger of Allah said: “Son of Adam, if you give away your surplus, it is better for you; if you keep it, it is worse for you. You will not be blamed for keeping what is sufficient. Begin with those who depend on you, and the giving hand is better than the receiving hand.” Abu Isa graded this hadith hasan sahih and noted that Shaddad ibn Abdullah was known by the kunya Abu Ammar.
