Musa bin 'Abdur-Rahman Al-Kindi Al-Kufi narrated to us: Zaid bin Hubab narrated to us: Mu'awiyah bin Salih narrated to us: 'Abdur-Rahman bin Jubair bin Nufair Al-Hadrami narrated to us, from his father, from An-Nawwas bin Sam'an, who said: A man asked the Messenger of Allah about righteousness and sin. The Prophet said: ‘Righteousness is good character, and sin is what troubles your conscience and what you would dislike people finding out about you.’ Muhammad bin Bashshar narrated to us: 'Abdur-Rahman bin Mahdi narrated to us: Mu'awiyah bin Salih narrated to us with a similar report, except that he said, ‘I asked the Prophet.’ Abu 'Isa said: This hadith is hasan sahih.
