Hannad narrated to us: 'Abdah narrated to us, from Muhammad bin 'Amr, who narrated to us from Abu Salamah, from 'Aishah, from the Prophet, with a similar report. It is narrated from Ibn Al-Mubarak that he said about this hadith: In Arabic usage, if someone fasts most of a month, it is permissible to say that he fasted the whole month, just as one may say that someone prayed through the entire night, though perhaps he dined or was occupied with something for part of it. Ibn Al-Mubarak evidently considered the two reports consistent: he meant that the Prophet fasted most of the month. Abu 'Isa said: Salim Abu An-Nadr and more than one narrator also reported this hadith from Abu Salamah, from 'Aishah, in a form similar to the narration of Muhammad bin 'Amr.
