حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ حَجَّاجٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَحْصُوا هِلاَلَ شَعْبَانَ لِرَمَضَانَ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ مِثْلَ هَذَا إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ . وَالصَّحِيحُ مَا رُوِيَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ تَقَدَّمُوا شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ بِيَوْمٍ وَلاَ يَوْمَيْنِ " . وَهَكَذَا رُوِيَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَحْوُ حَدِيثِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو اللَّيْثِيِّ .

Muslim ibn Hajjaj told us: Yahya ibn Yahya told us: Abu Muawiyah told us, from Muhammad ibn Amr, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: ‘Keep count of the crescent of Shaaban for Ramadan.’ Abu Isa said: We know this version of the hadith of Abu Hurayrah only through the report of Abu Muawiyah. The correct report from Muhammad ibn Amr, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, says: ‘Do not precede the month of Ramadan by a day or two.’ A similar report to the hadith of Muhammad ibn Amr al-Laythi is also narrated from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet.
