Qutaibah narrated to us: Bakr bin Mudar narrated to us, from 'Amr bin Al-Harith, from Bukair bin 'Abdullah bin Al-Ashajj, from Yazid, the freedman of Salamah bin Al-Akwa', from Salamah bin Al-Akwa', who said: When the verse ‘And for those who can fast only with difficulty, there is a ransom: feeding a poor person’ was revealed, whoever among us wished could break the fast and offer the ransom, until the verse after it was revealed and abrogated it. Abu 'Isa said: This hadith is hasan sahih gharīb. Yazid is Ibn Abi 'Ubaid, the freedman of Salamah bin Al-Akwa'.
