Nasr ibn ‘Ali narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Isma‘il ibn Abi Khalid, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah—who informed them of this from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: “When one of you is served his food by his servant, after the servant has borne its heat and smoke, let him take the servant by the hand and seat him with him. If the servant refuses, let him take a morsel and feed it to him.”
Abu ‘Isa said: This hadith is hasan sahih. Abu Khalid, Isma‘il’s father, was named Sa‘d.
