حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ الصَّاغَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَائِنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي الأَسْوَدِ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنْ بَاتَ وَفِي يَدِهِ رِيحُ غَمَرٍ فَأَصَابَهُ شَيْءٌ فَلاَ يَلُومَنَّ إِلاَّ نَفْسَهُ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ الأَعْمَشِ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ .

Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Baghdadi al-Saghani narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Ja‘far al-Mada’ini narrated to us: Mansur ibn Abi al-Aswad narrated to us, from al-A‘mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever spends the night with the smell of fat on his hand, then something befalls him, let him blame no one but himself.”
Abu ‘Isa said: This hadith is hasan gharīb. We know it as a report of al-A‘mash only by this route.
