Qutaybah reported to us from Hammad ibn Zayd, from Thabit, from Anas, who said: The Prophet was the boldest, most generous, and bravest of people. One night the people of Madinah were alarmed when they heard a sound. The Prophet went out to meet them on an unsaddled horse belonging to Abu Talhah, with his sword slung over him. He said: Do not be alarmed; do not be alarmed. Then the Prophet said: I found him to be a sea—that is, the horse.
Abu Isa said: This hadith is sahih.
