Abdullah ibn al-Sabbah al-Hashimi al-Basri reported to us from Yazid ibn Harun, from Shayban—that is, Ibn Abd al-Rahman—who reported to us from Isa ibn Ali ibn Abdullah ibn Abbas, from his father, from Ibn Abbas, that the Messenger of Allah said: A horse’s good fortune lies in its reddish color.
Abu Isa said: This hadith is hasan gharib. We know it only through this chain, through the report of Shayban.

Al-shuqr refers to a reddish horse color; ‘reddish’ is used without narrowing it to a more specific shade.
