Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Naysaburi reported to us from Muhammad ibn Yusuf, from Yunus ibn Abi Ishaq, from al-Ayzar ibn Hurayth, from Umm al-Husayn al-Ahmasiyyah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah preaching during the Farewell Pilgrimage. He was wearing a cloak, wrapped around himself with it from beneath his armpit. I was looking at the muscle of his upper arm, which was quivering, and I heard him say: People, be mindful of Allah. If an Ethiopian enslaved man, mutilated, is appointed over you, then listen to him and obey him so long as he upholds the Book of Allah among you.
Abu Isa said: Reports on this subject also come from Abu Hurairah and Irbad ibn Sariyah. This hadith is hasan sahih, and it has also been transmitted through other chains from Umm al-Husayn.
