حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَعْزِلُ فَزَعَمَتِ الْيَهُودُ أَنَّهَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ الصُّغْرَى ‏.‏ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ كَذَبَتِ الْيَهُودُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَهُ لَمْ يَمْنَعْهُ ‏" ‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عُمَرَ وَالْبَرَاءِ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ ‏.‏

Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Abi al-Shawarib narrated to us: Yazid ibn Zuray narrated to us: Ma'mar narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Thawban, from Jabir, who said: We said, O Messenger of Allah, we practice withdrawal, and the Jews claim that it is the lesser infanticide. He said: The Jews lie. When Allah wills to create a person, nothing can prevent Him. It is also reported in this chapter from Umar, al-Bara, Abu Hurairah, and Abu Sa'id.
