Ibn Abi Umar and Qutaybah narrated to us: Sufyan ibn Uyaynah narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, from Qaza'ah (Ibn Yahya), from Abu Sa'id, who said: Withdrawal was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, and he said: Why would any of you do that? Ibn Abi Umar added in his version: He did not say, “Let none of you do that.” In both their versions he said: No soul is created except that Allah is its Creator. It is also reported in this chapter from Jabir. Abu Isa said: The hadith of Abu Sa'id is hasan sahih and has been reported through more than one route from Abu Sa'id. Some scholars among the Companions of the Prophet and others disliked withdrawal.
