Yusuf ibn Isa narrated to us: Waki narrated to us: Isra'il narrated to us, from Simak ibn Harb, from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas: A man came as a Muslim during the time of the Prophet, then his wife came as a Muslim. He said: O Messenger of Allah, she had embraced Islam with me; return her to me. So he returned her to him. This hadith is sahih. Abd ibn Humayd said: I heard Yazid ibn Harun mention this hadith from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, as well as the hadith of al-Hajjaj, from Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet returned his daughter Zaynab to Abu al-As with a new dowry and a new marriage contract. Yazid ibn Harun said: The chain of Ibn Abbas's hadith is better. The ruling is based on the hadith of Amr ibn Shu'ayb.
