The Rites of Hajj (Kitab Al-Manasik Wa'l-Hajj)

Musaddad narrated to us; Yahya narrated to us. Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, from Ibn Numayr, from Ubayd Allah, from Nafi‘, from Ibn Umar, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to visit Quba on foot and riding. Ibn Numayr added: And he would pray two rak‘ahs.

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whenever anyone greets me, Allah restores my soul to me so that I may return his greeting.

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do not turn your houses into graves, and do not make my grave a place of recurring celebration. Send blessings upon me, for your blessings reach me wherever you are.

Rabiʿah ibn al-Hudayr said that he never heard Talhah ibn ʿUbayd Allah narrate anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except one report. Rabiʿah ibn Abu ʿAbd al-Rahman asked what it was. Talhah replied: We went with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as he intended to visit the graves of the martyrs. When we reached the top of Harrah Waqim and then descended, we saw graves in a bend of the valley. We asked whether these were the graves of our brothers. He said they were the graves of our companions. When we came to the martyrs graves, he said these were the graves of our brothers.

Nafiʿ reported from ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made his camel kneel at al-Bathaʾ in Dhu al-Hulayfah and prayed there. ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar used to do the same.

Malik said that on returning to Medina, no one should pass al-Muʿarras without praying there as much as he wishes, for he had been told that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stopped there overnight. Abu Dawud said: I heard Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Madani say that al-Muʿarras is six miles from Medina.
