Chapter 204: The person observing I`tikaf may visit the sick and attend funerals
“The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ)said: ‘The person observing I’tikaf may attend funerals andvisitthe sick.’”
Chapter 205: What was narrated concerning the person observing I`tikaf washing his head and combing his hair
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) usedtobring his head towards me when he was next door (observingI’tikaf),and I would wash it and comb his hair, when I was in myapartment andI was menstruating, and he was in the mosque.”
Chapter 206: The person observing I`tikaf may be visited by his family in the mosque
“Take it easy, she isSafiyyah bintHuyai.” They said: “Glorious is Allah, O Messengerof Allah!” And theywere very upset by that (i.e., that he thoughtthey may have somedoubts). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “TheSatan flows throughthe son of Adam like blood, and I was afraid thathe might cast somedoubt into your hearts.”
Chapter 207: The woman who is suffering from non-menstrual bleeding may observe I`tikaf
“One of the wives of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)observedI’tikaf with him, and she used to see red and yellowdischarge, andsometime she would put a basin beneath her.”
Chapter 208: The reward for I`tikaf
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)saidconcerning the person observing I’tikaf. “He is refraining fromsin and he will be given a reward like that of one who does all kindsof good deeds.”
Chapter 209: One who spends the nights of the two Eid performing voluntary night prayers
“Whoeverspends the nights of the two ‘Eid in praying voluntary prayers,seeking reward from Allah, his heart will not die on the Day whenhearts will die.”
