Jabir reported: During one of the expeditions he took part in, he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, “Have plenty of sandals, for a man remains like a rider as long as he is wearing sandals.” Muslim transmitted it.

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When one of you puts on sandals, let him begin with the right. When he takes them off, let him begin with the left, so that the right is the first to be shod and the last to be unshod.”

He reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “None of you should walk wearing only one sandal. Either wear both or take both off.”

Jabir reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “If the strap of someone sandal breaks, he should not walk with only one sandal until he repairs it. He should not walk wearing only one boot, eat with his left hand, sit with one garment wrapped around his legs, or wrap himself completely in a single garment.” Muslim transmitted it.

Ibn Abbas reported: The sandals of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had two straps, and their leather thongs were doubled. Al-Tirmidhi transmitted it.

Jabir reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade a man from putting on sandals while standing. Abu Dawud transmitted it. Al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it from Abu Hurayra.

Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad reported from Aisha: The Prophet ﷺ would sometimes walk wearing only one sandal. Another version says that she walked wearing only one sandal. Al-Tirmidhi transmitted it and said, “This version is more sound.”

Ibn Abbas reported: It is part of the Sunnah, when a man sits down, to take off his sandals and place them beside him. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Ibn Burayda reported from his father: The Negus gave the Prophet ﷺ two plain black boots, and he wore them. Al-Tirmidhi adds, from Ibn Burayda from his father, that the Prophet performed ablution and wiped over them. The source chapter has no third section. Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, reported: I used to comb the hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was menstruating.

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Five practices are part of the natural way: circumcision, shaving the pubic hair, trimming the mustache, clipping the nails, and plucking the armpit hair.”

Ibn Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Be different from the polytheists: let your beards grow and trim your mustaches closely.” Another version says, “Trim the mustaches closely and leave the beards to grow.”

Anas reported: A time limit was set for us for trimming the mustache, clipping the nails, plucking the armpit hair, and shaving the pubic hair: we were not to leave these for more than forty nights. Muslim transmitted it.

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, “The Jews and Christians do not dye their hair, so be different from them.”

Jabir reported: On the day Mecca was conquered, Abu Quhafa was brought in with his head and beard as white as the white plant called thugham. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Change this with something, but avoid black.” Muslim transmitted it.

Ibn Abbas reported: The Prophet ﷺ liked to agree with the People of the Book in matters about which he had received no instruction. The People of the Book let their hair hang loose, while the polytheists parted their hair. The Prophet ﷺ let his forelock hang, then later parted his hair.

Nafi reported from Ibn Umar: I heard the Prophet ﷺ forbid qaza. Nafi was asked, “What is qaza?” He replied, “Shaving part of a boy head and leaving some of it.” Some transmitters incorporated this explanation into the hadith itself.

Ibn Umar reported: The Prophet ﷺ saw a boy whose head had been partly shaved and partly left. He forbade them from doing that and said, “Shave all of it or leave all of it.” Muslim transmitted it.

Ibn Abbas reported: Allah has cursed effeminate men and women who imitate men. He said, “Turn them out of your homes.” Bukhari transmitted it.

He reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, “Allah has cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men.” Bukhari transmitted it.
