فِي الإِقْرَانِ
Al-Nufayli narrated to us; Miskin narrated to us, from al-Awzai, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Ikrimah, who said: I heard Ibn Abbas say: Umar ibn al-Khattab told me that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Someone came to me last night from my Lord, Mighty and Majestic, while I was at al-Aqiq, and said: Pray in this blessed valley, and say: Umrah during Hajj. Abu Dawud said: In this report, al-Walid ibn Muslim and Umar ibn Abd al-Wahid narrated from al-Awzai the wording: And say, Umrah during Hajj. Abu Dawud said: Ali ibn al-Mubarak also narrated it from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir with that wording: And say, Umrah during Hajj.
Hannad ibn al-Sari narrated to us; Ibn Abi Za'idah informed us; Abd al-Aziz narrated to us; al-Rabi ibn Sabrah narrated to me, from his father, who said: We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When we reached Usfan, Suraqah ibn Malik al-Mudlaji said to him: Messenger of Allah, give us a ruling as clear as if we had been born today. He replied: Allah, Exalted is He, has included Umrah in this Hajj of yours. When you arrive, whoever circumambulates the House and walks between al-Safa and al-Marwah has exited ihram, except one who has a sacrificial offering with him.
Abd al-Wahhab ibn Najdah narrated to us; Shuaib ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj. Abu Bakr ibn Khallad also narrated to us; Yahya narrated to us, in meaning, from Ibn Jurayj, who informed me, from al-Hasan ibn Muslim, from Tawus, from Ibn Abbas, that Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan told him: I clipped the Prophet's hair at al-Marwah with a broad arrowhead. Or: I saw him having his hair clipped at al-Marwah with a broad arrowhead. Ibn Khallad said: Muawiyah did not say that he had been informed.
Al-Hasan ibn Ali, Makhlad ibn Khalid, and Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, in meaning; they said: Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us; Mamar informed us, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, from Ibn Abbas, that Muawiyah said to him: Do you not know that I clipped the Messenger of Allah's hair with a Bedouin's broad arrowhead at al-Marwah? Al-Hasan added in his version: during his Hajj.
Ibn Muadh narrated to us; my father informed us; Shubah narrated to us, from Muslim al-Qurri, who heard Ibn Abbas say: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered ihram for Umrah, while his Companions entered ihram for Hajj.
Abd al-Malik ibn Shuaib ibn al-Layth narrated to us; my father narrated to me, from my grandfather, from Uqayl, from Ibn Shihab, from Salim ibn Abdullah ibn Umar, who said: During the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Umrah followed by Hajj as tamattu. He brought a sacrificial offering from Dhu al-Hulayfah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) first entered ihram for Umrah and then for Hajj, and the people performed Umrah followed by Hajj with him. Some brought sacrificial offerings and others did not. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Mecca, he said to the people: Those of you who brought a sacrificial offering must not make lawful for yourselves anything that was forbidden to you until you complete Hajj. Those who did not bring an offering should circumambulate the House and walk between al-Safa and al-Marwah, shorten their hair, and exit ihram. Then they should enter ihram for Hajj and offer a sacrifice. Whoever cannot find an offering should fast three days during Hajj and seven when he returns to his family. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Mecca, he first circumambulated the House, touching the Corner, then trotted during three of the seven circuits and walked during four. When he completed the circumambulation, he prayed two units at the Station, gave the greeting of prayer, and left. He went to al-Safa and walked between al-Safa and al-Marwah for seven circuits. He did not exit ihram from anything forbidden to him until completing Hajj, slaughtering his offering on the Day of Sacrifice, and performing the circumambulation of the House upon departure. Then everything forbidden to him became lawful. The people who had brought sacrificial offerings did as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did.
Al-Qanabi narrated to us, from Malik, from Nafi, from Abdullah ibn Umar, from Hafsah, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: She asked: Messenger of Allah, how is it that the people have exited ihram, while you have not exited from your Umrah? He replied: I matted my hair and garlanded my sacrificial offering, so I will not exit ihram until I slaughter it.

She said: Messenger of Allah, Allah's obligation of Hajj upon His servants has come upon my father when he is an old man, unable to sit firmly on a riding animal. May I perform Hajj on his behalf? He replied: Yes. This took place during the Farewell Pilgrimage.
Hafs ibn Umar and Muslim ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, in meaning; they said: Shubah narrated to us, from al-Numan ibn Salim, from Amr ibn Aws, from Abu Razin. He said: No. He replied: Perform Hajj for yourself first, then perform Hajj on behalf of Shubrumah.

كَيْفَ التَّلْبِيَةُ
Al-Qanabi narrated to us, from Malik, from Nafi, from Abdullah ibn Umar: The talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was: Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am; You have no partner; here I am. Truly, all praise, blessing, and dominion belong to You. You have no partner. Al-Qanabi narrated to us, from Malik, from Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Hazm, from Abd al-Malik ibn Abi Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham, from Khallad ibn al-Saib al-Ansari, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Gabriel, peace be upon him, came to me and instructed me to tell my Companions and those with me to raise their voices with the ihram declaration—or he said, with the talbiyah. Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, sat beside the Messenger of Allah, and I sat beside my father. Abu Bakr's and the Messenger of Allah's travel gear was together with a servant of Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr sat waiting for the servant to come. He arrived without the camel. Abu Bakr asked: Where is your camel? He replied: I lost it last night. Abu Bakr said: You had only one camel, and you lost it? Then he began striking him, while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and said: Look at this man in ihram—what is he doing? Ibn Abi Rizmah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said nothing more than: Look at this man in ihram—what is he doing? And he smiled.

الرَّجُلِ يُحْرِمُ فِي ثِيَابِهِ
Muhammad ibn Kathir narrated to us; Hammam informed us, saying: I heard Ata. Safwan ibn Yala ibn Umayyah informed us, from his father, that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at al-JiRanah. He had traces of khaluq perfume—or, he said, yellow dye—on him, and was wearing a cloak. He said: Messenger of Allah, what do you instruct me to do in my Umrah? Allah, Blessed and Exalted, sent revelation to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When it had passed, he asked: Where is the man who asked about Umrah? He said: Wash off the traces of khaluq—or, he said, the yellow dye—remove your cloak, and do in your Umrah what you did in your Hajj.
